Looked After Children with SEND

Our designated teacher for looked after children is Mrs Carr, our headteacher.  He works closely with Mrs Harmer our SENDCo, to ensure that all children are supported, and that there is an early identification of any issues within school.

All LAC have a statutory Care Plan, which is drawn up and reviewed by the Local Authority that looks after them. The Personal Education Plan (PEP) is a legal part of the Care Plan; which is a statutory requirement for LAC in education provision.

Mrs Carr ensures that all LAC have a PEP which is also reviewed every term. Any SEND Support Plans and the PEP should complement each other to provide individual support tailored to each child.
