Primary Science Quality Mark (Silver Award)

We gained this prestigious national award in recognition of our innovative approach to the teaching of primary science. A special thanks to Mrs Rachel Harmer for driving this through and her determination and perserverance have now been rewarded.

1Basic Skills Quality Mark Award

In July 2012, we were awarded The Basic Skills Quality Mark for the fourth time in recognition of our continuing good practice in ensuring that all our pupils develop good skills and knowledge in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT.

We hold The Basic Skills Quality Mark as recognition of the work we do in developing Literacy and Numeracy skills across the curriculum. We achieved this award for the fourth time in July 2012 with the assessor commenting very favourably on our work in developing basic skills for all our pupils.

Eco Schools bronze AwardEco-Schools Bronze Award

We have achieved Eco School Bronze Award as recognition of our work in making our pupils aware of the need to protect and nurture our world. We have a very enthusiastic eco committee led by Mrs Harmer and Mrs Lowe with the pupils taking decisions about future developments.

PrintInternational School Award

We were awarded the International School Award, Intermediate Level in December 2011 for our work in developing links with schools in other countries. We have a particularly strong link with Ecole Primaire George Brassens in Flesselles near Amiens, Northern France. You can read more about our exchange visit in the News section of the website.

4Healthy Schools Award

We are a Healthy School and we are now looking to develop this aspect of our work further by achieving enhanced status.

Pond Competition Prize Winners

We were prizewinners in a design a pond competition where the Y2 pupils designed a pond and made a short video to explain their ideas. We won a beautiful fishtank and tropical fish.

School Fundraising

The generosity and good will of the local community towards the school is wonderful. We regularly receive donations from different community groups and we help the community both locally and globally through fund raising for a variety of causes. We recently held a Bring and Buy sale with all proceeds going to help schools in Killimatinde,Tanzania.
