28.10.18 Design for Bishop of Durham’s Christmas card

Don’t forget to bring in your designs for our Bishop of Durham Christmas card competition.  We are looking for a colourful A4 designs that depicts Christian scenes of Christmas (angels, stable in Bethlehem, three kings, Baby Jesus, Star of Bethlehem).  Closing date is Friday 2 November 2018.

Monday – Parents evening 3.30-6.00pm

Wednesday – Year 3 /4 Tag Rugby at Staindrop Academy

12.30-2.30pm Please ensure that your child has a school PE kit including trainers to change into. We suggest that pupils wear their school red jumpers /cardigans if required in order that we all look smart.  A coat and water bottle should also be brought (if not already at school).

Year 1 and 2 children need to bring in their Teddy/ cuddly toy

Thursday – Year 5 multi skills at Staindrop Academy

Friday – Last swimming session for N,R,1 children

05.10.2018 Harvest Festival on Wednesday 10th October

Harvest Festival Assembly 10th October.

We would like to invite parents, carers, family, Lynesack church members and friends to our Harvest Festival celebration on Wednesday 10th October at 9.00 am in school.  Donations of tinned food, cereals, pasta, rice, biscuits, etc. can be dropped off at school. There is a basket at the main entrance for your  donations.

28.09.18 Y5 Trip to the Beacon of Light on Wednesday 3 October

Please could all Year 5 pupils be in school for 8:40am prompt on Wednesday morning, as our bus will depart at 8:45am. We expect to return to school at approximately 4:15pm (depending on traffic). Children should wear their school uniform and a waterproof coat with hood/hat.

14.09.18 WW1 In the pink film screening

The Evenwood, Ramshaw and District History Society and the Gautless Valley History Trust have worked on a project this year to pay tribute to the 244 local men and families of those who did not return from the Great War.  Resulting from this work, they have commissioned a film entitled ‘In the pink’ which will be shown at venues throughout the area.  We are hosting one of these screening on Thursday 8th November at 7pm in our school hall.  Screenings are free and on a first come first served basis.  A copy of the DVD and book will be available to purchase at £5.00. click here to view the trailer

07.09.18 Under Threes Stay and Play

Our popular Under 3s Stay and Play started again on Friday 14th September from 9 – 10.30am.  We are always looking to invite new parents and toddlers to our group.  If you know of any families in our community who might like to come along, please tell them about us and invite them along.  We only ask for a £1 donation each week to help with snacks and drinks.

07.09.18 School Coffee and Open Morning on Friday 28th  September.

We are holding a Coffee Morning and Open Day on Friday 28th September from 9am to 10.30am.  Come into school and see all the school improvements, meet the staff and pupils, have a coffee and help to raise money for Macmillan.  As well as current parents, carers, family and friends, we want to encourage new families in the village to come and see our superb educational facilities, so if you know of a family, please invite them to come along and have a look around our school. All donations of cakes will be greatly appreciated. Please leave any  donations at the school office.
