On Thursday we will be taking the school football team (Years 4 and 6) to the football league at Staindrop Academy for a 12.45pm start. Parents and carers welcome to come and support us.
Year 3 and Year 4 pupils have been invited to attend a cricket tournament at Raby Castle Cricket Club in the grounds of Raby Castle on Monday and a Multi-skills festival on Tuesday afternoon at Staindrop Academy. They will need their school PE kit for both events. They will be back before the end of the school day.
On Wednesday 13 June 2018 we’re off to the seaside!
This year our whole school trip is a day trip to the seaside at Saltburn on Wednesday 13 June. Pre-school children are welcome to join us on this trip (even if it is not their normal day for attendance). Letters have gone home via your child’s book bag and the item is available on Parentpay
We are hosting a ‘Royal Tea Party’ from 2pm onwards and parents, carers, family and friends are warmly invited to attend. As always we would welcome any donations of cakes and biscuits for this event which can be brought into school on Thursday or Friday morning.
To celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle we are holding a ‘Royal Wedding Day’ on Friday 18 May 2018. There will be no swimming lesson on this day. It will be a non-uniform day with pupils encouraged to dress up in red, white and blue, or as a royal character, (from the present or past).
Thank you to parents and carers who have booked places for family photos before 9am. All slots have now been taken and will be confirmed by email. We intend to have every child photographed individually and with a sibling in school so that parents have a choice of options. If your child is in pre-school but does not normally attend on a Tuesday, you are welcome to bring them into school from 9.30am for a photograph.
On Monday afternoon this week we received a call from the Ofsted Inspector informing us that our school was due an inspection and they would be in school at 8am the following morning. Thank you to all parents and carers who managed to sign on and complete the Parent Questionnaire. I know some had difficulty logging onto the site. Fortunately, we also had the governor questionnaire results from last term which I was able to share with the inspector. We will receive our official letter outlining the outcome of the inspection in about three weeks. You can give your views at the Ofsted Parent View website any time.
Our school is receiving an Ofsted inspection on Tuesday 1 May. Inspectors will arrive at school at 8am and spend the day meeting pupils, staff and governors. Tonight we have sent home a letter requesting that you complete a questionnaire online.
If you are a registered parent/carer of a pupil at the school you can complete the online survey at www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.
