At the weekend our Long Sword Dancing Team took part in the Day of Dance held in Barnard Castle at the Bowes Museum, Scar Top and Witham Hall. They did a brilliant job and were an absolute credit to themselves and school. Mrs Thompson (and her daughters) and Ms Fenoughty accompanied them during the day. Mrs Thompson and Ms Fenoughty even took part in the final move – chopping off the head of the willing victim! Thankfully the swords were made of wood! Many thanks to the team of instructors and musicians who have been teaching the dance moves to pupils at school. Thanks also to Teesdale Action Partnership (TAP) for a small grant to enable the school to take part in this project.
